Paul Buchheit: What to do with your millions →
Many people with jobs have a fantasy about all the amazing things they would do if they didn’t need to work. In reality, if they had the drive and commitment to do actually do those things, they wouldn’t let a job get in the way.

Leaving Tumblr.
As evidenced by my lack of posts recently, this blog has sort of fallen out of favor with me for a number of reasons—namely becuase I’m just too busy. I’ve also decided that tumblr isn’t doing the job for me for worldwithoutwww.com. Sometime over the next couple weeks I’ll be migrating w5 back to my hosting.

Scenario one: the woman is a rational self-interested agent. If she regarded a free dinner as sufficient compensation for the time she had to spend in your company, then a “thank you” would be a simple way of securing a repeat of the experience.
Unhappy with your car horn? Try Horntones.
Oh brother…
FX-550, Horntones’ patented system, is the world’s first and only MP3-enabled vehicle horn.
Yes, it means exactly what you think it means.

Upcoming Supreme Court Cases →
Agreed to clarify how long a suspected criminal’s request for a lawyer during police interrogation should be valid. The court will hear the state of Maryland’s appeal of a decision throwing out child molester Michael Shatzer’s confession. Shatzer asked for a lawyer almost three years before admitting to the abuse.
This is going to be interesting.
Saw this coming home from the Alamo Drafthouse. Another reason I love Austin.
Faced with two valid choices, go with the more interesting option.

Benedict welcomes as a “gift” new technologies such as social networking sites, saying they respond to the “fundamental desire” of people to communicate.
But he also warns that “obsessive” virtual socializing can isolate people from real interaction and deepen the digital divide by excluding those already marginalized.
He urges producers to ensure that the...

So much to quote here, but here’s just one:
Some of you may succeed, and some of you may fail. I want to remind you that financial success is not the only goal or the only measure of success.
I Do Enjoy My Job
Jillian: i hope i never work at an office that has a free for all food system like that.
Jillian: because i might find myself eating nilla wafers with funfetti frosting :)
Jillian: and once you've worked at a place like that, workplaces will never look at the same

Poetry it is not. Nor is it particularly romantic. But reducing love to its component parts helps us to understand human sexuality, and may lead to drugs that enhance or diminish our love for another, says Larry J. Young.

We will have music by the incomparable DJ Chicken George. You should know that he makes really good guacamole. I doubt he will bring any because it makes the turntables all green and sticky. Instead, for refreshment, we’ll have the always-classy kiddie pool of cheap bear and probably something delicious (or at the very least, semi-delicious) to eat. There may or may not be bear claws. I...

I would kiss her with joy. Sweet love!

I'm Missing Someone Else Now →
Its been six months since you broke us up. Ive dated other women but always compared them to you and lost interest. I finally met someone who makes me laugh like you use to. We have been inseparable for weeks now and she left on a small vacation a couple days ago. I miss her like I use to miss you. It kind of hurts to feel someone else replacing you. I felt guilty today and looked at our pictures....
What I've Learned: Jeb Bush →
God, when I was six years old, was: Jesus loves me, yes he does, because the Bible tells me so. God was a prayer, a song, the warmth of being dressed up to go to church with your parents. Now God is bigger. Much bigger. Huge.
